The educational activity "The World of Signs in a Wooden Box" is a creative journey into the world of Lithuanian folk symbols, where each participant has the opportunity to decorate a wooden box using ancient signs: daisies, snakes, the tree of life, or stars.
This is not only an artistic activity, but also a meaningful way to get acquainted with the national heritage, to delve into the meanings of old symbols and their place in Lithuanian culture. During the session, participants not only learn decoration techniques – drawing, painting, composing patterns – but also discover the joy of creativity. The symbols are first sketched on paper, and then transferred to a wooden box using stencils or copy paper. After the drawing is completed, it is colored in the chosen colors, and the box becomes a personal, symbolic work.
It is a peaceful, aesthetic and inspiring time for yourself – an opportunity to stop, be in the creative process, discover a connection with the past and convey it through contemporary self-expression. Each work becomes unique and meaningful – it is not just a work of art, but also an emotional, symbolic story.
