Clay is a treasure of the Lithuanian land, counting hundreds of millions of years, dating back even to the marine period. Despite the abundance of choices, clay is still used today - works of art are created, various building materials (tiles, finishing materials) are produced. Clay is loved for its naturalness, environmental friendliness, ability to absorb and give off heat, and durability.
The aim of the educational programs is to introduce the Lithuanian tradition of ceramics, the circumstances of its formation, and the production process by visiting a ceramicist's (potter's) workshop. During practical classes, you will experience the joy of creativity while sculpting, learn about the properties of clay and understand the influence of materials on technological processes, and try decorating with paints and glazes yourself.
Education is carried out in a contact manner, in compliance with all requirements. All the necessary tools for education are provided. Participants in the education will be familiar with the traditions of ceramics in Lithuania, prepared for practical activities (workplace, special clothing), and the methods of sculpting, painting, and glazing will be explained.
